Science

The Heathy Rivers and Landscapes program is grounded in modern science and a commitment to continuous learning.

The Science Program

Through a coordinated Science Program, researchers and practitioners are studying how flow and habitat improvements work together to support fish and wildlife across California’s rivers and landscapes. This includes monitoring, modeling, and real-world projects that help answer key questions about what works-and how to improve over time.

Science Supporting HRL

By tracking results and adjusting actions based on what we learn, HRL ensures that decisions are informed by data, responsive to changing conditions, and focused on long-term success.

SCIENCE PLAN

The HRL Science Plan outlines how progress is measured and decisions are guided through monitoring, research, and adaptive management across the program.
